Default 9wt. Clear/intermediate sink tip..what do you suggest?

Wondering if anyone has/uses a line like this for fresh water fishing. Looking for opinions, as I hope to add a 9wt. to the quiver this coming season, and most of the lines I see for sale are saltwater.

    Thanks,
    TZB

I've got a 9ft. clear intermediate sink tip on my 4wt and like it a lot. The intermediate tip excels at reducing the effect waves have on the fly line, and if you are patient and count it down, you have better depth control as well. My 6 and 7wt. rods both have reels spooled with fast sink 24ft sink tip lines to handle higher winds and when more depth is required. I like the longer tips when possible because it gives you more versitility without the trouble of handling a full sink line.
If it swims and eats, it'll eat a fly.

    thezugbug,

I use a Rio Outbound line when fishing the saltwater for Searun Cutthroats and resident Coho salmon. I have the Intermediate tip with the yellow running line. It casts like a dream, especially when casting into a wind and also when you have to do a roll cast due to brush behind you.

    It is a great line.

    Check it out.

Thanks for the responses guys! So, had a look at the link...it's the "intermediate" that has the clear tip. That's the very line you've used?

Well, I've got a buddy who almost always uses the clear tip intermediate sink tip on stillwaters....I don't think it's an Outbound.

I use a full sink intermediate...
We pretty much catch equal numbers.

There was a time he was getting more strikes than me and I figured he was shallower than I was....I just shortened my casting distance and shortened the countdown...and ended up actually hooking up more often than he.

I second GBFlytyer. We were in Alaska together in 2007 and my 9wt intermediate clear tip was a hit for the Silvers, both in the river as well as the lakes and ponds we fished. Rio Outbound - don't skimp.

    P.S. - fished it on my 8wt, 10ft rod.
