Sun Glasses for site challenged

I wear glasses all the time. My perscription does not come in contacts. I am wanting some sun glasses. I have thought about a pair of perscription sunglasses but was wondering if there was a better option out there.

I hope this does not seem like a thread hyjacking but is there a lens color that works better
I am going to buy precription sunglasses as well. I don't have to have them to drive but it is a little easier.
As my eye doctor pointed out " you are over 40, what do you expect"

I have a pair of cocoons that I wear over my glasses, and love 'em. They do the job, and when I don't need them, I just let them hang on the strap around my neck. They come in several lens colors - I like the amber myself. It just seems a little more versatile to me.

I used amber for stream and stillwater fishing. I can't comment on what heps in the salt.

I have a pair that I can change the lenses in, so I used to use grey for driving and amber for fishing. I found I like amber more for everything now. Works great in snow and rain, too. I never use my yellow lenses, but I am sure there will be a day when they work for something. So if I had only one choice, Amber would be my color.

I got prescription sunglasses that are polarized in a brown tint at Costco, just took my prescription in from my eye doctor. They are great and were about $160. The polarizing isn't as good as my Action Optics, but I can see my fly a lot better.

I use prescription polorised sun glasses in an amberish brown, they work great for fly fishing and my Optometrist(sp) tells me you should wear sunglasses whenever you are outside, including driving so they are worth the money.
I used to use some fit over polarised, but they seem to scratch awfully easily and I just could not find a pair that where comfortable to use all day.

Cocoons don't fit over my glasses very well, even in the large size. I went with Fit-Overs. I have a pair in amber and a pair in gray. They work very well and are comfortable enough that I forget I have them on.

Some models of glasses come with clip on polarized sunglasses. That was a deciding factor in my choice of frames. The sunnies attach just by magnets though, and so you have to avoid clumsiness (not always easy for me I'm sad to say). Anyway, next time you need to get new frames, look into that option.

I just bought a pair of Cocoons and i like them. I got lucky in finding a pair that seemed to be custom made to my glasses so they fit very well. The really nice thing is that they are pretty much "normal" size so i can also wear them when i have my contacts in.

I would definately recommend checking out the Cocoons/Fit-Overs.
