I've never seen natural black squirrel for sale, I agree with DDRRedneck500,
you have to shoot them yourself or get them from someone who hunts.
They are common here in my neck of the woods, and I shot one just last week.
I saved the skin and tail. I salted the skin, and had them on the work bench in the garage. My kids left the garage door open, it rained, and the skin and tail got wet, so now it's ruined. I wasn't happy about that at all. It my fault for setting them on the bench so close to the door.

I can remember long time ago when I was a kid. Black squirrels were very rare in our area. There was a small village approximately 20 - 25 miles away that had a few in a park there. Now they are everywhere. I had one in my backyard tonight. I can't help you with what you want, but maybe some squirrel hunter can.

Moscow hide and fur has them (hideandfur.com). They are great folks to do business with and have a wide variety of stuff you may not find very often.

Never heard of a little water hurting a skin--First you should wash the skin to get the blood dirt etc out then BORAX IT. 20 mule team sold in grocery stores. I never use salt, that only adds more moisture. BILL
