Thread: Wanting to say thanks in a public forum.

Cool Wanting to say thanks in a public forum.

I wanted to say in a public forum "Thank You" to Betty Hiner.
Thank you very much for taking the time out of your life to help out a person whom for all intents and purposes is a stranger to you.
I have a fly rod that is a nice little rod.
Not great by any means but none the less a nice little rod. Its a bit on the old side and a bit used and it needed to be re-wrapped. Betty upon hearing my thought that I wanted to keep it at the puchase price of 2.00 dollars so that I would maintain my purchse price and thereby preserve it's uniqueness to me up and volunteered to do the job at no cost to me.
Folkes, in my book that is just plain generous .
She also contacted Orvis to see if they would find out what the rod cost originally.
I couldnt find out so she went and found out for me.
    That was over the top!!!
I have certainly gotten my 2.00 dollars out of this little rod and have once again seen that there are still some darn nice folkes out there .
    Once again ,
    Thank you Betty,
    Yours,
    Peter

I'm totally blown away by this, and Kim's, post!! You all just have to know how much enjoyment I get from doing "little" things for my friends!

Peter had a really kewl little rod there! And he knew better than to sell it to me for $7.50!! Even though it would have meant quite a profit for him!!

Thank you, all, for letting me have fun!

PS ... it was an Orvis rod, built in the 70-80's, that sold for $250 then. If it was used, originally, it was used VERY sparingly, and only had "issues" with some of the wraps. And, that $2.00 he paid for it ... also included the burgundy sock, and a metal tube!!!
Trouts don't live in ugly places.

A friend is not who knows you the longest, but the one who came and never left your side.

Don't look back, we ain't goin' that way.

    Betty Hiner aka Angel.

Betty, once again your kindness and generousity touches the lives of others in ways that can only be described as unselfish. Thank you for being who you are.

Yep I think Betty has cornered the market in positive karma.

My Dad and I both enjoyed the leaders. Now time to get him off the "Golf " and back to a stream.

    Thanks from me again also

Talking Definitely some good people here!

    Hi Perch,

Betty is certainly one of our most generous and kind members here on FAOL. She and many others make me proud to be a member of this group. 8T
