    Exclamation Bamboo Bass!

Well, last week I finally broke down and did the Bamboo thing. Bought a really beautiful, used 7'6", 6wt, flamed cane rod and reel from a guy needing some extra bucks. Had to find out if it fished. Well I got rewarded big time at a stock pond with the big LMB shown in the picture. Yessir, it does fish!

Sorry guys, did not mean to leave stuff out, here's the deal:
    1. Bought used.
    2. 7'6" 6 wt., two tips
    3. Maker, James Russell, Dallas, local person
    4. Description: 6wt built on William Powell Modified taper w/ swollen butt.
    5. Reel: Dogwood Canyon from BPS
    6. Line: Cortland DT Sylk 6wt F

Wow, James I am impressed you read my post, I read your article on casting bamboo prior to casting it. Being from where I am, far West Texas, am a Lefty Kreh taught video caster so I have many flaws. It did cast well, but of course very differently than my Sage's. Am taking it to Conjoes CO in ten days for trout.

Holy Moly - we're gonna get some Mark stories about TROUT fishing in moving water.

So much for the bamboo, let's get down to the good stuff !!
    The fish are always right.

It's a long, long, long haul from the Permian Basin to anywhere with running water, much less cold running water.

Looking forward to hearing all about it Mark!!
