Thread: Fishing Spouses?

    Hi all,

Great topic. I had submitted a post a few weeks ago requesting suggestions for a fly rod for my wife. After trying several of the rods recommended; she picked the Sage SLT and loves it. On her first outing with the new rod she took a lesson from a well known instructor on Spring Creek in State College PA. She out fished me the next two days. She know calls me net boy. Maybe I should change my user name.
I am so glad to have my wife share in my favorite activity. It makes going away that much nicer. She can out fish me any time.

    Steve.

    Hi Guys,

Gretchen is my partner in all aspects of our life - business, friend, marriage, fly fishing, fly tying, and she rows a drift boat better than most guides (you guides out there, I'm not taking a shot at you). She is my first choice as a fly fishing partner. That said, it doesn't mean I don't enjoy fishing with the guys from time to time. Take care & ...

I think Nick Lyons wife Mari set the perfect example of a fly fisherman's wife. She would go with him and either stay in the car and read, or sit on a stool and either paint or draw.

Ain't life grand; I got it made too. As a matter of fact my buddies and I have a fishing club that PROHIBITS wives or significant others on club outings.

Sort of like the Raccoon Lodge...woo woo!
