Default Is the Sage Fli made of Sages Graphite III?

Was wondering if the Fli was made from Sages Graphite III and whether the blanks are made by them(Sage) or imported?

All Sage blanks and rods are made at their Bainbridge Island WA plant.

None of the Sage documentation that I have or have read on the Web indicates the type of grahpite used in the FLi series, or most of their other current rods for that matter.

Their description of their "Generation 5 Technology" states "By precisely placing different modulus strengths of graphite along the length of a given rod, the new Modulus Positioning System (MPS) proved to be the solution everyone was looking for." I think this indicates that they are using multiple types of graphite in the newer rods.

The type of graphite used doesn't really dictate the quality or performance of the rod.

I don't know a whole lot about the make up of a fly rod, but I do have a Sage Fli. The dealer I purchased it from told me thet it was genration III graphite and not IV. This dealer seemed to think that the type of graphite does make a real difference in the way a rod performs and stated that the Generation III was faster that the IV.

But like I said I really don't know, just passing along information. -Yaf

But didn't Sage acquire Redington? I thought this was to allow use of a well developed but inexpensive, outsourced blank to put Sages into the hands of the masses?

I have no basis in fact for this, just voicing a perspective that can be supported or shot down at will.....

ALL Sage rods are made about 8 miles from FAOL Central. Redington is actually in another building just down the road from Sage.
