    downloaded, installed, slow, issues, went back to version 2.... All is well...

    both my desktop and laptops are pc's running norton 360.

    desktop has ff3 doesnt load right wont connect to isp

    laptop has ff2.0.0.15 no problems

    guess the desktop goes back to ff2

    I spoke too soon, I guess. My start up was again slow--not as slow as before but still slow.

    As far as memory--yea its supposed to be better at allocation but the reality is that it is a big memory and cpu hog when it is stuck trying to load. This is not an isolated problem. I downloaded the old 2.0 install--may be switching back, soon.

    desktop back to ff2

    no problems now (fingers crossed)

    opera browser isnt bad either.

    Dump the NORTON and go with AVG antivirus, A much better product.

    When your Norton subscription runs out switch to AVG free edition. It is lethal to viruses and will save you bucks.

    If you don't have ccleaner freeware you should. It cleans up your registery and can vastly improve performance of your pc.

    Yeah...I hate Norton. I'm running Norton Internet Security with anti-virus and I find it's too memory intensive....autoupdate always craps out necessitating a re-install. I'm dumping mine and am going with the CA freeware that's offered by my cable supplier. Sorry for the hi-hijack . I just loaded Firefox 3.0 here at work and everything is running just fine
