Thread: New source for a small high intensity vise light

    Question New source for a small high intensity vise light

    My wife, who is an avid quilter, just bought a new very small ( 0.5 inch diameter by 1.5 inch length) light on a very thin flexible metal shaft. I immediately though it looked very much like the small Mckenzie flex shaft vise light I use constantly. This is the one that fits on the 3/8 inch shaft on my Barracuda vise.

    Its much cheaper, about $30 compared to the McKenzie light. It is made to stick to the side of a sewing machine, but with some effort it could be easily adapted to your fly tying desk.

    I have no financial interest in this company but here is the information:

    " Bendable Bright Light"

    Anyone have any experience with this light?

    The website says $49.95 + $4.80 Priority Shipping. What happened to $30? Was there a price increase or did your wife buy this from another outlet. I know manufacturers usually sell from their websites at MSRP, and you can usually do better from other outlets.

    49 or 30?

    Simple she paid about 30 for it, just like you pay around 20 for the rod building kits when asked by family.

    Check out the BBQ Grilling lites, I've got 1 paid under 20 bucks for it last year. It doesn't have the fancy stick on fastner, you can clamp it or use the magnets that make up its base, has 6or 7 leds,(its packed for the Michigan Fish-In or I'd get the count) uses 3 aaa batteries, great for lugging along to tie at thing's(Fish-in's ect.). Still using the cheep batteries that came with it!

    Joe,
    Not the same, mine has a "conical" shaped head picked it up last year at "Harbor Freight". Couldn't find it on Harbor's website.
    See you in a day or so!

    Bill;
    Yours, sounds a lot like mine!?!
    Got this one, at Walgreen's Pharmacy for $9.99
    Has the strong, magnetic base, a clip, 13" rubber coated flex neck, 7 LEDs, can also stand alone on it's base, runs of double A batts.
    I was amazed at the actual "brightness" of this lamp, for the price. A lot of these so-called "LED bright lights", wouldn't light up a shoe box, but this one's pretty bright and more than bright enough to tie by!
    Not, too sure, though why you'd want to "CLIP" a light like this to your belt, but then I've seen some mighty strange fly tying set ups over the years I guess, too!?! (as well as, some very strange ways to BBQ!?!)
