I caught a bunch of these tonight. Mostly on a white woolie bugger and some on a white streamer with silver tinsel body.
I just love catching bluegill.

Yummy! Get a bunch of those big ones and you have some sweet eating as well as a bunch of fun.

Doncha just love 'em! I've taken a bunch on a little 3wt. If the got as big as bass you'd need salt water tackel to get em in.
Wish I had a camera to show some of ours in SW MO
Hey Jeff, good job! When's dinner?

I also got a bunch of gills today...nothing big, all were 7" to 8", which are great eating size & lots of fun. Tomorrow, weather permitting, I think I'll go back & get some for the table. Today was all C&R. Got mine on yellow woolly worm, red butt epoxy ant & black foam beetle. Had some wind, so used my 3wt, which is a GREAT wind rod.

FAOL..All about caring, sharing, & good friends!!
The Gills down here in Georgia have been off the beds for a while now and are working on getting fat. I caught 15-20 last night with several in the 10-12 inch range and two 14 inch beauties. On all the big gills, there tummiues were flat but they fought like the dickens and even pulled my kayak around a bit. What a great fish to chase with a fly rod.
