First decent bass of the year
The warm water fishing is starting to take off here in Northern Kentucky. I've been catching a lot of really nice bluegill and some crappie. Last night, I caught the first decent bass of the year. It's not much of a fish but it is the biggest one so far this year. I give it about 2 more weeks of warm nights for them to really start moving and this one will be considred "bait" size but, hey, it's a fish

I've been catching some pretty good brim and small LMB in the half pound range too. Last evening, right at dusk, I got my first good bass of the season too. Pulled it out of a major tangle of brush, sunken X-mas trees and dock cables on a four weight. Right around two and a half pounds. Very exciting. Life is good. 8T
Looks like it's going to be a few days before any fishing around here. 3 solid days of rain and coler temps have put them down. The streams are all blown out, high and muddy and the lakes have cooled off considerably.
Darn, just when it was starting to heat up, Mother Nature throws us a curve ball.
Oh well, sit back, tie some flies and get ready for the late springtime action.
