Default NO to "Air Boarding" * w/excepting

I always keep my beautiful prey in the water rather than even ever
lifting them at all.*** No barb hook a must always!

A net can be helpful but not needed.

I agree Steve. However, there are times while nymphing that I am a little slow on the hook set and that results in a set inside the mouth. In that case a net is a big help or I will wet my hands then gently manipulate the fish where I can safely retrieve the fly.

Ironic that you posted this. Ohiotuber and I were just talking about this last night. Normally the only time I keep a trout is when i have hooked them in a fashion that I am certain will cause their death. I do my best to avoid that. Now, panfish of a respectable size are going into the frying pan.

With all honesty Bill some sure do need this lesson.... I had never seen a fish
released properly as I state here before you, and then one day many years past I meant a fine gentleman on a stream, he showed me, I was young and he was old and wise, now, I am older and wiser
    because of it.

    Sometimes it can't be helped...

The other day when I was fishing a mountain brookie stream one of the little darlings became airborne when I set the hook.

    Does that count?

Some C&R AK waters have rules saying fish must stay in the water... Then the newspaper published a photo of a guy with a monster rainbow in one of those waters. The fish was not just in the air, but it had a gnarly thumb jammed in the gills...

This is as high as we go now for most pictures when releasing fish.

I guess, I missed the joke and wanted to "get it". I guess that I am too slow in my old age.
