Lake fishing - hang and bob

Hi all, I just read Gary Lafontaine's stillwater column "Hang and Bob". I want to give it a try but want to make sure I have the setup correct.

If I'm not mistaken, you should tie an indicator to the end of the leader with a clinch knot as if it were a fly. I'm not sure where to tie the tippet though? Do you tie the tippet to the indicator with a clinch also? He says tie it above the indicator. So would that mean to tie the tippet to the leader using a clinch knot?? I've never tied tippet to a leader this way before, but would think it would weaken the line...maybe not?


If anyone has used this technique or understands better than I do, please let me know!
