My grandma had this thing that looked like a hand grinder, but you put green beans in the top, turned the crank and french cut beans came out the bottom. I always thought it was strange?

I have a turkey cannon. It's the model 870 Express made by Remington. To all you uneducated types, no, it is not a razor.

My mother used one of those and now I have it
Mom believed that if you french cut overgrown green beans, somehow they would become tender again.
    It didn't work
We ate those tough, nasty tasting, french cut, frozen beans all winter.
It takes alot for me to eat any green beans at all to this day

I think I ate those same Beans all winter too! She cut up some very big beans. Wonder if trout would eat old green beans?
