Thread: Ichabod Visits the Bow River

  1. Default Ichabod Visits the Bow River

Ichabod Crane made an appearance on the Bow last night by taking a picture of this headless horseman...was the only guy on the river that we saw, probably because it was about 17 degrees (-7 celcius)..managed to pull a few fish in, including this pretty guy, getting all ready for the spawn in the next few months

All about the super small black stones right now, BWOs should start in a month

Who is that headless horseman ?? Can't be you because he has a glove on one hand. Otherwise, it looks like it might be you, out in the cold as usual.

    The fish are always right.

    That'd be me
I don't like having a glove on the hand that is stripping line in (it feels awkward, not sure why..makes double hauling especially hard), but i need that other glove to have on that stripping finger, otherwise it's unmanegeabley cold. After tailing this fish, it was a cold rest of the night, that's for sure

Hopefully the last real cold spell we have up here

Know what you mean about cold. Not as cold around here, but cold enough. Ice in the guides is a pain, and it's tough on the equipment, let alone the stripping hand. Ready for the mid 40's they're forecasting for the coming week - hope they got it right.

Yeah, it's looking like its gonna be in the above freezing, and then well above freezing here for a while, which is going to be quite appreciated..though we need some rain, the bow is really low right now.

It was a cast x10, then clean out guides, then redo.
I put my reel in the water to unhook that guy, and it froze up nicely after
