    Default SA rod repair

I have a Scientific Angler 2 piece rod that was broken at the joint. Both joining pieces are missing and there is a split in the shaft about 2-3 inches long. My dad purchased this rod in Alaska several years ago and I think it is a higher-end rod that SA made.

Is there a repair kit especially for this type of repair? If so, where can I get one?

I have no idea about the warranty SA has on these rods. I've checked their website and haven't found anything on the SA products at all. If someone knows anything about that, I'd like to know that also.
    Thanks

    Joerogrz,
I see by your profile you do photography, a picture would be nice to see where the brakes are, and also the model number, name of the rod.
I have repaired some with a spigot ferrule if that is were the brake is.
    Wes.

Contact them about the warranty. I bought an SA at a garage sale once that had a broken tip. I sent it in and they sent a replacement rod at no charge.

I misunderstood my dad about where this rod came from... He isn't sure about this particular rod. It was a different one that he got in AK, so I have no idea about the value of this rod.

But I still wouldn't mind repairing this one so here are the pics....

    joerogrz,

If I'm not mistaken, it looks like a $34.95 SA rod that you can find on sale for even less. In fact I saw one that looks like it for $21.95. I don't think it's worth repairing and it wouldn't be an easy repair.

You can make cork reamers from pieces of the blank and maybe use pieces to make spigots for other rod repairs.

Yeah I didn't think it would be. My Dad thought it was the one he bought in AK but it was a different one. I'm rethinking repairing this one and just try to build one instead. It will probably be more enjoyable in the end.
