That's great, I saved it to my favorites, so when they get more in stick I'll buy the kit. I like my kayak but I don't like sitting while fishing in it. I lkie to upgade it also to a sit on top type that's a little longer than the 9.5' I have.

Here you can check out my outriggers made with 3/4" electrical conduit and a couple of boat fenders, total cost about $45. I prefer metal, it's sturdier than pvc.

Is it possible to install the outriggers once you are in the water?

Which, mo's or the Ram tube type....The ram tubes, If installed behind the seating area, In easy reach are totally adjustable for height, while under way..and can be installed at will also...You can loosen the tension knob and leave just the ball and base on the yak.. and you can make the pvc arms whatever length you want..even have short and long versions..depending on the water conditions...I think it's a very slick system...When tightened, You can lift the boat by the outriggers, They hold that well...You can also buy fly rod holders that work with the Ram Tube Bases...and can pull double duty, when you don't need the outrigger's...

Why do you want to ruin a good kayak by adding outriggers? Save yourself some trouble and go buy a used Jon Boat to stand up in. They are cheaper than kayaks, as a rule, and ultra stable. They row reasonably fast for a fishing boat. You can get one light enough to car top fairly easy, and one person can lift the smaller ones with little trouble.

Putting outriggers on a kayak is like using a Quarter-Horse to pull a beer wagon!

How many do you know of weigh 35 lbs.???? My kayak is so portable and light, the only downfall is my back when I sit for extended periods of time. I have a canoe that weighs 58 lbs and I still prefer the yak for portability.

Or if you really wanted to look cool, you could make a set of outriggers from insulation foam from Lowes or Home Depot, fiberglass and epoxy.
