Default Nice Striper on a dry fly!!!!

Was drifting ant for some small brown trout and landed this huge guy. Set my all time smallest fish record!

Sweet. My first ever fish on a fly rod was about this size. I'll be you yanked it right out of the water when you set the hook.

Hope you kept it on and cast it back in.

    Norm,

Caught a rainbow about the same size as your photo fish earlier this year in my favorite small mountain stream. Had let the foam ant I tied drift through a run and was starting a little roll cast when I felt a heavier then usual weight on the line. Looked back just as the ant lifted from the water with a wee fish attached to it. Laughed hard enough to scare any fish left in the run. Had to be very careful in releasing it cause it was so small. I didn't want to handle it and couldn't anyway. Luckily, was using barbless hooks and was able to gently wriggle it off.

    Hey Norm,

Your "Stripers on Dry Flies" reference
caught my attention. Some years ago, we had
a weekly show on here in the south called
the Southern Sportsman. One of his series
had him in a cypress swamp on the upper end
of Lake Marion catching 2 to 5 pound
stripers one after another using dry flies
during a hex hatch. What a hoot that was.*G* Warm regards, Jim

Looks a lot like the ones chasing my wooly buggers today at lunch!

Thanks for sharing the pictures Norm!

Micus, I have never caught a real stiper on anything yet. It is on my "to do" list though.
