Default Possible World Record Sea Trout

    In by email:

    Hello!

My name is Ken-G?ran Pedersen from Norway I'm a gillie in Lakselva, Norway.
Monday I caught a fish that probably is a new world record for seatrout. The
fish was 19,85 kg (44 lbs). I cught it on a 4/5 single handed,
0.25mm/1X/11lbs leader and a double hook nr 12 fly, it took me 2h 30min to
land the fish. I have pictures and video of the hole event, the pictures are
    of good quality, 7,2 megapixel.

Her are some links to norwegian newspapers that have publised the story and
    pictures: [url=http://pub.tv2.no/nettavisen/friluftsliv/article437945.ece:30b91]http://pub.tv2.no/nettavisen/friluftsliv/article437945.ece[/url:30b91]

Here are the current world records:
    Official World Records:

    Atlantic 79.2 pounds 1928
    Coho 33.4 pounds Sept 27, 1989
    Chum 35 pounds July 11, 1995
    Chinook 97.4 pounds May 17, 1985
    Pink 13.1 pounds Sept 23, 1992
    Sockeye 15.3 pounds Aug 9, 1987

I tried to look at the IGFA records but you have to be a member to do that on their web page. There might be some hole in the record book that this might fill.

By "seatrout" he means Atlantic Salmon right? That's what it looks like to me but is it a sea run brown? Holy $*#T if it is!

If it is a sea run brown and after a closer look I think it is, the all tackle world record is 40 lbs. 4 oz, so it would be a new record.

    Dear gardenfish,

    ...or a fast boat!

Heck of a fish. I saw on another site that they are doing genetic tests to see if the fish is in fact a sea run brown trout.

Here's hoping it is a brown!

Tim, a fast boat AND 700 yards of backing! Whatever outfit he used, there are some mighty advertising possiblities there.
