    If they're still available, Steve, go to the home page, then click on "Friends Of FAOL".

    Default new organization

    Patch can be obtained by becoming a "Friend of FAOL" Check out the page and the particulars are there. My son sewed his on to his fav fishing shirt, says he'll sew mine on to mine "one of these days." Great looking patch I might add.

    Yes, FAOL is a fine organization with a lot of information for both new and veteran fly fishers, fly tiers and rod building enthusiasts. I'm proud say that I am a "Friend of FAOL," and do my best to contribute when the opportunity presents itself. I do get back so much more than I give, and I encourage everyone to share their talent and time as they are able.

    But, I think JC was eluding to organizations other than FAOL, so I will give my opinion about one that I feel strongly about and to which I donate time and talent on an ongoing basis.

    Federation of Fly Fishers, Livingston, Montana

    FFF is the only organization that supports fly fishers and fly fishing, as well as "All Fish, All Waters." From the FFF bylaws, here is a snapsot of their Mission"

    "Purposes
    In the Bylaws, the purposes of the Federation are listed as follows:

    a. Cultivate and advance the art, science and sport of flyfishing as the most sporting and enjoyable method of angling and the way of fishing most consistent with the preservation and use of game fish resources;

    b. Be the voice for organized fly fishing;

    c. Promote conservation of recreational resources;

    d. Facilitate and improve the knowledge of fly fishing;

    e. Elevate the standard of integrity, honor, and courtesy of anglers:

    f. Cherish the spirit of fellowship among anglers everywhere;

    g. Establish and maintain liaison with other organizations of anglers and conservationists and government agencies concerned with the sport of angling; and

    h. Keep its members informed of developments of interest to the membership."

    There is just too much to talk about here as to HOW FFF actually fulfills their mission, so I would direct you to their website to answer any questions you might have.
