    Default First golden!

I got off early today since it was the last day before Christmas break, so I used the extra time effectively and went fishing. In the process, I caught my first golden trout-a 16" beauty. I took a quick picture with my cell phone, but can't figure out how to download it to show everyone without signing up for more expensive fees with the phone company. Bummer! Anyway, it was a great trip overall. I ended up catching about a dozen fish in an hour and a half. It was a great way to start the holiday vacation.

If your phone has a USB port you can copy it from the camera to your computer and then upload it.

    Hope this helps.

yes, I just want to see the photo.

    Taxon,
I don't think so! I'm sure ole blue is talking about those Frankenstein bows that the hatcheries are producing. I call them PMR's, or Pale Mutant Rainbows.

These are definitely hatchery fish, and NOT the Californian style goldens. The state stocks rainbows, and get a smalll percentage of what they call goldens in as well. They are definitely a minority of the population and can be very tough to hook into. I've been fly fishing our area for 4 years now, and this is the first I've managed to hook up with.

    CONGRATS, 'Ol Blue!
ANY fish, that size, is cause for celebration and a hardy "Att'a Boy"!, from me!
Nice going and even a nicer way to end up the year's fishing!
