What did you good little boys and girls ask Santa for?

    I asked Santa for:

    fly tying dvds, and
    5 wt. SA Sharkskin.
    Trout don't speak Latin.

A new 3wt reel and line to go with the Hook & Hackle 4 pc 3wt rod kit I just purchased (and plan to build between Christmas and New Years, since I have that week off)...a pair of Orvis Pro-Guide waders would be nice, too

Tim, Just keep letting your bakcast drop and #3 should be no problem. I really don't understand why you want it though. It'll just make those new waders leak. As for me I think I have enough gear but I would surely like to see enough precipitation this winter to have the rivers in good shape going into next season.

    scubatim,

Go to Hook & Hackle's website and buy the Tradition II 7'-9" 3 wt kit for $59.95 and build it yourself. It's on sale this weekend for $5 off. I built mine in two days before the '07 FI and it has become my go-to rod for panfish and trout. I fish it with my 4wt line. http://www.mailordercentral.com/hook...number=HHF7934

Trust me, anyone can build this rod if they just take a little time. I taught a rod building class in October, and 4 out of 5 of the people built this rod. They were 75% completed in 5 hours, and finished them up at home. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!

    Joe

P.S. It will be the best Christmas present you ever gave yourself. I'm sure Brad will agree with this. If not, I'll send him some SPAM for Christmas.

If I can build a rod, then anyone can.
