    Default Keeping Zonker strips supple????

I have been working on Bass flies that mimic worm baits and have been using zonker strips for the "worm". Any suggestions for what I can do to keep the strip supple after I have fished it and it has dried out? Fleximent? Siliocn? Thanks guys.

    Hi raw69,

It shouldn't matter if they get a bit hard when they dry out after fishing them. Next time on the water, just take a minute or so to soak the fly for a bit and it will become soft and flexible again. Isn't as nice in the box, but is good in the water.

I would try to maybe steam them, With steam from the spout of a tea kettle. That would probably return them back to normal.

But also as Jeff suggested just soak them in water a bit before you start casting 'em.

The only thing that cares what the fly looks like in the Fly box is you....unless you have a buddy thats trying to sneak a peak at what your catching so many fish on...

Jeff nailed it! Mine look awful in the box, but just cast it & they come right back to life. In fact, I have 1 or 2 I tied 2 years ago...still look all dried up & useless, but still springs right back.
