    Default Fenwick Fly Rod combo

I am looking for a value on a Fenwick Woodstream Fly rod, 7 1/2', 6wt. (info on rod ... FF756, AFTMA fly line no. 6), with a Ryobi - Super light Magnesium 355mg reel. This is a rod combination that was purchased in the 70's for about $60 and in my opinion is in very good condition. Any suggestions for price? Thanks, D A Flymann

Fiberglass Fenwick rods 8' or shorter (of that age) are bringing $100-200 on ebay - depending on condition of course. I sold a 8' 6 wt on the Fiberglass Flyrodder board for $120. It had a homade PVC tube and homade rod sock that was made for a 8.5' rod
I have no idea about the reel.

You can find some good info and even sell the rod on the fiberglass fly rodders forum. http://p097.ezboard.com/bfiberglassflyrodders

I just bought the same rod off ebay for $67. They can go for more than $75 depending on the condition and who happens to be bidding. The reel isn't really a classic. The rumor is that it's the same as the Forbes magnesium reel. You might get $35 for it.

Interestingly enough, I just attended a TU meeting where Gary Borger was the featured speaker. He mentioned that he did some work for Fenwick in the early days. The company was bought by a mouse trap manufacturer, and several key players left to start Sage. They used the same design principals. So, the rod you have was one of the finest made at the time. You may want to keep it.
