Trail Creek LaPort County, Indiana

Spent about 3 hours at Trail Creek just east of Michigan City, Indiana fly fishing for Coho, Kings, and Steelhead. This was the first time I ever fished this creek. Though I had no hook ups I did have a great time. I would guess about 20 people fished this stretch of the creek this morning. I seen 3 Coho in one guys cooler and talked to a few people who seen some Coho and Steelhead caught. I talked to a couple from Illinois who stated that the girl caught one Steelhead her first ever. I did see a few fish running with the current and it was pretty exciting even if I had no takers. Rest assured I will be fishing this creek again and again, I will keep you posted.

If any of you guys from Michigan want to make the trip this way let me know. It is not as pretty as the Rouge or Cold Water but is nice and should see more Salmon and Trout in the next few weeks.

Scubatim: I enjoyed reading about Trail Creek. It was my fall and winter fishing haunt for many years. A really hot fish in that little spit would really raise a fuss. Don't forget the St. Joe and Muskegon and several others that can bring a lot of enjoyable hours.
