Inflatable Kayaks

Anyone out there using an inflatable Kayak?

I live in a Condo and drive a Chevy Cobalt, I have no wehere to store or transport a hard body Kayak but the inflatables look interesting. I was hoping someone on the board might have some experience with one.

There was a kayak fisherman on the paddling.net fishing forum who seemed to love his inflatable kayak to fish the lakes around Austin Texas. Appanently the "skins" of the new inflatables are not easily punctured by fish hooks etc if you use even a modicum of care. I've looked at some at our local Sportsmans warehouse and they do look pretty tough.

while i was out on the deutches river in OR, i saw a lot of inflatable going down the river. also many pontoons and fishing rafts are made from the same inflatable material. i may give it a try too.

Check the Paddling archives, there used to be a member here (I believe it was Southside Sarge) that strapped his inflatable to his bicycle, then got on the public bus to get near his fishing spot, then cycled the rest of the way. Haven't seen him here in quite a while.
