    Default Hatcheries not the cure?

Oregon State University researchers found the reproductive success of trout, a species critical to many healthy aquatic ecosystems, drops by close to 40 per cent for every generation they spend in a hatchery.

Hatchery Fish Found To Be Poor At Survivial
First paragraph; "Steelhead turned out by hatcheries quickly evolve into a kind of swimming livestock with a poor chance of surviving in the wild and may carry their inferior traits into wild populations that biologists are trying to save, a new study of fish in Oregon's Hood River has found." End.
That's just the first paragraph! Everything evolves from mistakes of the past, but changing the Hatchery System will require a LOT of $$$. Maybe we should do what other Countries have done and declare a moratorium on certain fishing and raising inferior fish to mix with the wild fish. Having a NO KEEP policy on wild Steelhead isn't going to be the answer.
