Default Adams dry fly (the origional)

I have been told the the origional Adams dry fly was tied with a golden pheasant tippet for a tail. I have not been able to confirm this. Can anyone comment??

    Thanks

I learned to tie the Adams about 1960. It was tied with the golden pheasant tippit tail. But a different approach was recommended for the body. Mole fur was recommended by some because of its fine texture. It was nice. Probably too nice. It wasn't buggy enough. I settled on grey squirrel. You want buggy, you get buggy. Mole it tough to beat for smaller sizes. Just some rambling about an old friend.
