Default unexpected gift, possibly with a small world history

A few days ago, a friend of mine here in Colorado presented me with a book from his bookcase. He had purchased it used, years ago, and had not read it. The book is "A Book of Trout Flies" by Preston Jennings, copyright 1935. And it is in great condition.

When I opened the cover, a previous owner's name was penned inside it. I thought the name was familiar, but couldn't recall why. Today I thought of it. The name in the cover is "H.C. Buell", and my father's uncle was Harold C. Buell. I called Dad, but he didn't recall Uncle Harold (who fished with my grandfather for many years, and passed before I was born) having that book. I will take it down to him to let him see the name to see if the writing is familiar.

If so, it is a small small world. If not, it is still a great gift.

    DG,

"A Book of Trout Flies" by Preston Jennings.

Coincidently, Preston Jennings was just recently elected into the Catskill Fly Fishing Center & Museum's - Hall of Fame. He, along with several others, will be inducted at the next induction ceremony.

    Very good book.

I believe that the 1935 version is a 1st edition to boot.

A really nice book to have in your library!

    Congrats!

We can find no samples of his handwriting, so it is probably not going to be proven, one way or another. So I will assume happenstance. Twice would be coincidence, three times, enemy action.
