I hope those pilots get hazard pay for landing on those air strips.
Trout don't speak Latin.
Does an Ejection Seat work at ZERO Elevation?? Like when your engine quits at the end of the runway?? (Take0ff)

For the most part those were pretty safe airports. Unsafe runways have obstacles on their approachs. Such as mountains and steep valleys . Any runway is dangerous if you land too short or run off the end.
For God's sake, Don't Quote me! I'm Probably making this crap up!

Well, let us see here, wide open spaces, long strips of pavement and nobody trying to blow you out of the air during a N.O.E. (Nap of the Earth) landing at a socked in, too small, very hot, landing zone (L.Z.) in an over loaded, under powered, lightly armored helicopter. What's so dangerous about that?
As previously mentioned landing at one of those locations is usually only as dangerous as the pilot makes it. Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. You may have to change your underwear but it is still a good landing if you walk away.
Your right the landing without hills and such isnt bad. I always worried on take off more than landing BILLOriginally Posted by Gnu Bee Flyer
The one on the ski slope looks a bit, shall we say, interesting. I assume you take off downhill and land uphill?
