Sinking line leader questions

A really easy way to connect a butt section is :

.....a Castwell knot to a looped leader

Since the nail knot recently failed me I have finally broken my stubbornness and went with the castwell to a looped leader on my sinking line.

Let us know how it goes....even though I use it ...it's hard to believe it never fails

My experiance has been that if the Castwell Knot fails you tied it wrong!

Anyone that deals with the public knows that your teacher was WRONG.

There are dumb questions.

I've been asked many of them.

As far as a connection for sinking line to leader goes;

I've been playing with permanently attaching a hook shank/eye to the end of the line so that all I have to do is knot on the straight flourocarbon tippet in the appropriate length.

So far, it's working well.

Only one season and about 200 fish, though, so it's not much of a test yet.....
