Just wondering what some of you might use when there is no visible fish activity or you are fishing a new body of water for bass. Mine would have to be a size 8 bh black wolly bugger.
Thanks,
Gary

Bunny strip, clouser minnow, or streamer such as a larger black nose dace.
Mike
FAOL..All about caring, sharing, & good friends!!
I usually always throw a popper or gurgler first. If they wont hit topwater, then I go subsurface.
Conehead Bunny Leech.
Size 2 white wooly bugger.
Your hooks sharp????
I can verify that Mike's bunny strip is EFFECTIVE!! That fly barely touched the water and BAM. He was trying to show me the action and before we could get a good look it kept getting hit.
shallow water/low light: deer hair frog size 6
deep/clear/bright light: clouser/Puglisi minnow of some kind
If it swims and eats, it'll eat a fly.
I like poppers too. First you find out if they're willing to take topwater that day, and if they're not willing they'll usually still follow it and give away their locations.
I'm also with the crowd that first throws a popper.
I assume LMB? Popper with an un-weighted bugger attached as a dropper. Although a conehead muddler minnow has been effective too, and it doubles for pike also.
