Went out this morning with my Float Tube and Fly Rod. The weather was overcast and a bit windy for a new guy trying to cast a Frog Impersonation but ... Despite the wind the casting went better then I could have imagined, keeping the tube where I wanted it was another story.

Spent about an hour and a half casting the shoreline and had a few LMB hit the fly but I had no hook ups. That's OK though as I got in a lot of casting practice in less then optimum conditions and can honestly say I did pretty good.

Most importantly I had a great time and can't wait to get out and try again. I know it's just a matter of time and I will get that much awaited LMB hook up then you will never get me off the water.

Hi scubatim, try that same cast at the shoreline with an unweighted black wooley bugger in a size 4 long shank... very slowly retrieved/stripped...lemme know what happens...oh, if you can, be sure to keep your rod tip right down on the water as you strip and pointed right at the fly...it will be easy to strip strike over to your left side (if you're right handed) when you feel something !
