    Default Kaufmann's Moves

    The Oregonian 8-6-07

Kaufmann's Streamborn, an area fly-fishing fixture for nearly four decades, has moved 5 blocks from its former location on Commercial Street in Tigard.
The store opens today at 11960 S.W. Pacific Highway, on Oregon 99W. The location is about a block south of Hall Boulevard on the east side of the highway.

I have not been to the new location but I would think it will be much easier to find and the store will possibly be bigger.

Hey, thanks for sharing that ... I haven't been in K's for years and don't even see their catalog anymore.

I met Lance and Jerry (30 yr employee) at the Fly Fishing show earlier this year and that was a reunion for me since Randall, Lance and Jerry helped me so much in my early days.
They are First Class all the way! Their exhibit was the best at the show.
Doug P.S. I still don't remember seeing JC casting either!!!

Two of Randall Kaufmann's fly tying books are some of the best written on the subject. Tying Nymphs and Tying Dry Flies I feel are a must have.

    Doug,

Be sure to give us a post and let us know what you think of the new store.

    TyroneFly,
Yes those are great books! I am very lucky to own Randall's second edition Fly Patterns, which is the state of the art in fly reference.
Lance told me that Randall is working on a new fly pattern book that might have at least 3,000 patterns.
    Everything he does is classy!
As soon as I visit the new store I will report back.

Something to look forward to (both your report and his book).
