......and to all suffering form that terrible tragic, bridge collapse, my thoughts and a special prayer are with you. We will find out why this tragedy happened. We must stand together as a nation at times like these. We must render all possible assistance, at all possible speed. I believe that we will learn what went wrong and use that knowledge to prevent future tragedies like this from occurring. I believe that these people will not have suffered and died in vain. I stand with you folks that are suffering through this tragedy.

My condolences to the people directly affected by this terrible tragedy.
They will be in my Prayers also.

In 1966 the Heron road bridge In Ottawa Canada collapsed with the loss of nine lives and 57 workers injured.
In 1966 I lived 7 blocks from the Heron road bridge.
The Minniapolis accident has brought Heron road back to me after all these years. As a direct result of the collapse in the months and years to follow safety regulations were changed to make workers safer on the job. It is a sad thing that sometimes it does take a tragedy to get us moving in the right direction.
