    Default tippet preference & why

I did a search and didn't find out what I wanted to know.

What tippet material do you prefer and why? I'm just curious. I can't come up with a favorite, but I've been using Orvis Super Strong lately. I used to use Dai Rikki and was happy with it and don't know why I switched.

    Just wondering.

Doesn't SA make the Orvis lines/leaders?

More times than not I use Frog Hair when fishing for trout in most waters. It is strong and supple.
    Trout don't speak Latin.

It appears to be a subjective type of preference. I'm kind of surprised. I figured one brand would top the others.
    Thanks

It's not rocket science. Most companies can figure it out. So, lots of brands work well.

I use Orvis Super Strong and Orvis Mirage for my fluorocarbon. The mirage has a higher pound test than others and both come in a 40 meter spool which is 10 meters more than most.

You're right, Gramps. It's certainly not rocket science. LOL!

Have you compared it with Seaguar?

Sea-guar and Varivas are awesome. Both are incredibly abrasion resistant, which is as important as anything when it comes to salmon/steelhead/large trout fishing.

I use a bunch of different brands: the two I mentioned above, plus Rio fluoroflex/fluoroflex plus and Orvis mirage. I rarely even use monofilament anymore...
