Default Somebody send me a recipe

I've been hearing alot about the yellow sally stone fly around here. What is this fur? Any other recipes for it out there?

I could be wrong, but it looks like deer hair to me. Elk hair would be another good option for this recipe. Looks like a thread body and ginger hackle complete the pattern.

I think I can wing it but I do like that fur and I know I don't have any like that at my bench.

I have a pic of one tied by AK Best, I can email a photo. Pretty hard to beat his pattern in my opinion. Bruce brumat@gmail.com

"do it" 007. I do have some petty strong filters on my e-mail. I don't get everything that is sent to me but give it a shot.

    Thanx,
    Matt

Nifty little fly! Sort of looks like it could be a body of light olive uni-stretch, tail and wings of woodchuck, and light ginger hackle.

It looks like squirrel hair wing and tail to me.
    Either grey or fox squirrel.
    How does this sound:-
    Thread - Primrose.
Tail - Squirrel fibres, fox or grey.
Body - Either yellow floss or uni stretch
    Hackle - Brown/red cock hackle.

    Second thoughts -
I think Betty is right - woodchuck.

Think Betty's got it with woodchuck wing and tail...that body is either Uni Streach or floss...either one would work fine even Embroidery Floss would do well...

woodchuck is very hard and shiney, won't break near as easily as deer or elk,Good Luck ,Good Sir
