Hey Board~ I'm going to try to sell some of my rods and reels(consolidating)and I was wondering how most of you guys who have sold on here, ship your stuff. Post Office, UPS? I was thinking of auctioning on E-Bay but I like the people on this board and thought that I would try here first. Any info would be appreciated. J.C. USPS Priority Mail= UPS subcontract in most regions of the country.

Dear rollcast,

I've bought and sold rods here on this board and have had great luck shipping using USPS Priority mail. It's fast, the rods arrived safe and sound, and it's not very expensive. The typical cost for mailing a rod cross country is about $ 11.00 and that includes insurance up to $ 200.00.

They give you free triangular boxes for shipping. One box will hold a 4 piece rod, but you will definitely have to get two boxes and custom build a box for 2 piece rods of 9 foot in length. I've done that many times and never had any trouble.
