Thread: Sometimes a good catching nymph

Default Sometimes a good catching nymph

This is the first time that I will write something over here at this fly tying forum.
I'm from Europe (The Netherlands) and I want to show you one of mine favourite nymphs.
On local water catches this nymph mostly roach and European perch.
Friends who fished with it on trout rivers in Germany caught sometimes a lot with it, and they couldn't catch fish with other flies or nymph's. It's a very simple pattern: I use only for this nymph a shrimp hook 14-18, a small glass bead, a peacock's hearl, and some "madeira" wire.(Madeira wire can you buy in a hobby store for needlework)
I hope for you that you'll catch your dream fish with it.
    Good luck with it!

inderk: So glad to see you making a post here and showing us your fly. I believe this fly will work well for warm water fish as well as what you use it for. Thank You!

Simple, yet flashy enough to catch the eye of any stray fishes! I have seen very similar material in fabric and hobby stores. Need to get some.

I believe that the local bluegill and bass will find this fly appealing. I'll need to take it up to Oklahoma to the tail waters to test it on trout as well.

thank you for sharing your pattern with us!

Hi mate, welcome, and thank you.

It looks like a nice little chironomid to me... will have to give it a go!
