Thread: Google Mapping Application

    Default Google Mapping Application

Hello Everyone, I thought some of you might be interested in this mapping application from Google. I love maps and this has the potential to be used as a good scouting tool for our fly fishing adventures.

Don't know if that is the same as maps.google.com, but I've done some looking at it. It looks good, except in some of the mountainous areas, the resolution is less, so you get out of focus pictures and you can't zoom in close enough. That could also be due to the focal point of the lens being a couple thousand feet below the ground level in the mountains. Also, depending on where the sunlight was coming from, there could be really heavy shadows. Just my $.02 on what I've seen.

I think that the out of focus non zoomable areas may be there on purpose for matters of national security.

The problem I'm having is that Google Earth shows up larger than my screen is able to handle. I'm losing some of the directional tools etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Great site though.
