Default Cuba and the Dominican Republic?

So..it looks like I'm getting married next July in one of these locations. My question is whether there are good guide services and fishing opportunity in these areas? I've seen lots of advertisement for deep-sea fishing, but I'm looking more for bone and permit, maybe. Is this the right part of the world for these fish? As you can tell, I'm a complete noob in terms of salt-water fishing, but I'm getting more and more excited about it...to the fact the fiance is getting annoyed and accusing me of being more exciting about the fishing than the wedding lol

Any and all opinions and experiences welcome!

    tight lines,
    Brad

LOL..if only...I'm still trying to convince her we should get a "family" salmon licence so she can fish with me the summer...so far, no dice. I think she is scared of the fly being in the air around her (watching me cast probably doesn't help)

Hi there, I understand that Cuba has some of the best salt fly fishing in the world, I remember reading about some fantastic fly fishing in a marine park but I canot remember the name of the park. I am sure a quick google search will find some great fishing but I think you may need to spend a fair amount of money to stay at the fishing resorts.
    All the best

IF I remember correctly there are guide services in Cuba but it is required, not optional. Jardines de la Reina is the name of one of the places that was popular. One consideration would be to make sure wherever you stay willalso work for a non-fisher person.
