Default N.W.T. pike & lakers......?

Did a trip to Wignes Lake with Jay Remely and crew. What a HOOT! Again!!! And it was NOT warmwater!
Jay (right) and his boys, Remmy (left) and Wyatt (center). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v315/leesoares/CIMG0835.jpg[/url:4885a]
Harvey and his son, Mike, provided much gayiety during the week. :clapping http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v315/leesoares/CIMG0832.jpg[/url:4885a]
Dan (front) and Kirk (next in line) occupied the other cabin. They seem to want a bit more "outfitter's cabin" atmosphere (what they are very used to) at arrival, but at departure are ready to sign on for next year. :clapping http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v315/leesoares/CIMG0848.jpg[/url:4885a]
Some of the Scott Lake crew joined us for a shore lunch. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v315/leesoares/CIMG0831.jpg[/url:4885a]
Our able and gracious camp host, Jason (back of boat), WELL attended us and we wanted for nothing. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v315/leesoares/CIMG0826.jpg[/url:4885a]
This was our last plane for the trip in. :clapping http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v315/leesoares/CIMG0790.jpg[/url:4885a]
And these are the boats waiting for us to use. :cool http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v315/leesoares/CIMG0815.jpg[/url:4885a]
The area..... Still need a secret spot? I think not! Notice the snow. Ice-out was two days prior to arrival. :teeth http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v315/leesoares/CIMG0795.jpg[/url:4885a]
The stars of the area:
Wyatt with an average pike. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v315/leesoares/CIMG0840.jpg[/url:4885a]
A VERY vividly marked laker of average size. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v315/leesoares/CIMG0822.jpg[/url:4885a]
A before and after of our very much mostly used bug. We ARE very LAZY and found no need to change.......at all. Floating line for pike and an LC line for lakers. We would change the floating line to a gurgler when the water temp and fish became co-operative. We would change bugs after about twenty fish, not because they quit taking it, but because OUR senses were offended useing it so tattered. :roflol http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v315/leesoares/CIMG0887.jpg[/url:4885a]
And this is the reason for tattering.... :roflol http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v315/leesoares/CIMG0853.jpg[/url:4885a]
A flyfisher's birdsnest? Naw. An osprey nest occupied by some terns. :surprised http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v315/leesoares/CIMG0809.jpg[/url:4885a]
Remmy focused! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v315/leesoares/CIMG0820.jpg[/url:4885a]
Jay NOT...... :roflol For those that know Jay and his fishing style, you know how rare this photo-op was and why we just HAD to....... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v315/leesoares/CIMG0839.jpg[/url:4885a]
Midnight at camp...... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v315/leesoares/CIMG0800.jpg[/url:4885a]
4AM at camp.....

Some things we re-learned or learned new:
Only go into a shallow bay if the wind will blow you OUT! The gas moter is expensive to use in shallow rocks, the wooden motors are sporadic at best due to varying depths of the rocks, and the MULE finds the water a bit cool upon jumping from the boat! :roflol
Pike and lakers GOT teeth! :teeth
SLOW boats and FAST storms are interesting, is an understatement. :hmmm
We had plenty of this :coffee , and few of these :bug , very GRAND company, fine spring weather, GOOOOD food, and a GRAND time. :clapping
So our thoughts went to this upon departure.......wolf poop! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v315/leesoares/CIMG0813.jpg[/url:4885a]

Very nicely done! It would be okay to put the name and contact information for the place up too. We are always in favor of letting our folks know about good stuff - and places.

LF,
The place was Wignes Lake Lodge and is part of Scott Lake Lodge somehow. Wignes is for the "roughing it" people, whether they rough it by desire or by necessity. Do your own cooking and guiding. It suits us both ways.

Got more #'s if you need'em.
DON'T take our spot!
.....lee s.
