Although I have some "modern gear", I too prefer the traditional. I usually fish with bamboo, a canvas trout bag, and I wear my father's old fedora. I also prefer dry flies tied Catskill style, using only feather and fur - no synthethics. I don't yet fish with silk, but....... maybe in the future. I did retire an old Cortland 444 line this year and replaced it with a Cortland sylk.

You're getting closer.
Anybody good at reading tapers. I found out Jim had his own taper for the 8013 Dickerson. I snooped around and found this. Scroll down to Dickerson 8013 and you see Jim's taper next to it. It looks to me like he smoothed it out.
