Caught 3 bass right off the bat today then proptly had 4 shed my fly in row. I checked the hook and it was pretty dull. Replaced the fly and caught 2 more . Then it was .................back to work

I keep a nail file, six for a dollar metal type from the dollar store, it works and it fits my budget, Its also lighter and quicker than the stone I bought to do the same thing.

I like the cheap coarse files from hardware stores. I like to be able to shave off a good deal of metal with a single swipe, for when I have some major work to do on the hook point, always bouncing flies off bridges, cliffs and rip rap.
