    Default pattern needed

I bought green, and raimbowish Enrico Puglisi EP fibers, for one flie, but now i can't find anything else, i have looked on the internet, but i couldn't find any patterns. If anyone could find step by step patterns for this stuff i would be very graitful.

    Thank you for your time,

    JZ

Make your own. Nothing in this sport that says you have to only tie what other people have already designed. I haven't tied a fly to a pattern in a book for years.

JZ,if you make up to Whitefish stop at the LakeStream fly shop.
They have a couple of guys that have been tying with it for awhile and have some really sweet patterns.

    JZ,

Yup, what they said. Use it like any other synthetic, just be sure to lock it down well. One thing I've noticed, with at least some of the bigger ones (4/0 and up) I've tied with the stuff is that sometimes they don't track well, especially if I use a lot of it. Now I add a couple of lead wraps to the shank before tying larger patterns and it seems to help. Try swimming a few before you tie up a million to see if you have this problem then try some of the lead wraps to see if it fixes it. It may just be me. Anyway, assuming you've already done your homework for school, are some ideas to look at for using the stuff.

This one is a pattern Enrico ties up called the Peanut Bunker, which is a saltwater baitfish here in the NE. Stripers love em. You can substitute colors to imitate whitefish, perch or other baitfish to wiggle past that 5 foot pike of yours waiting for you in Jasper. You can doodle markings with a sharpie or pantone pen to get stripes etc. on the fibers:

You can also use EP Fibers to tie pretty weedless things like this Herring pattern, using Owner or Gamakatsu bass plastic worm hooks. If you want to, you can also tie in hackles flat wing style for added length and motion, and substitute colors to imitate a whitefish or whatever:

BTW, you can also use EP fibers for post wings on patterns like the ICU Crane Fly:

I now tend to use bucktail rather than EP Fibers, but get sort of the same effect of big profile, light weight , and easy casting by using Popovic type patterns like Hollow Fleyes and Silicones. But I bet you could substitute EP Fibers for the bucktail on these. Here's a Hollow Fleye :

Here's another style of fly, also by Bob Popovics. His Silicone Mullet has very cool top water waking action. I would use wool head and bucktail, not EP fibers, but I bet it would be killer on Pike in larger sizes and maybe even tick off a silver or two in smaller sizes. I like them in blurple (black head purple deer hair or vice versa) especially for throwing at night:

    Hope this helps, good luck!
