snake guides

I'm redoing a bamboo rod and need to replace one snake guide but how do you know what size they are is there a measurment chart ? it is on the tip section on a three piece rod .. if that helps .. and would be the fourth there from the tip top.

This may not be the best answer but maybe will help. I would take a look at your catalogs. Most offer some guide kits and list the sizes of the guides in the kit. Find one for snake guides and then order guides in the 2-3 sizes that might work, but not the whole kit. OR, If you know the original rod manufacturer give then a call if they are still in business. I am not a bamboo guy, but maybe one of the dealers that specializes in bamboo might be of some help, like Golden Witch

thanks since no name exists any more on the rod and it is only for the wall I have decided to just order a couple and see which one fits the best for over all looks of the rod .

if it's only for the wall, why replace the guide at all?

I suspect that the quide in question is either a 1/0 or 2/0.


guides are cheap. order one each of those sizes and a 1. you've got silk? and varnish I assume?
