    Default Open water

Who's got it? How far north do you need to go to find it? I was in NE MO last weekend and the ponds and lakes were open. In Iowa it was still ice covered. Same up here. Just curious. JGW

ps Those who have it all year, this is not a joke or trick question. I repeat, this is not a JOKING MATTER!@%&$$@!~

Here in my neighborhood in Connecticut the ponds down the road really started to open up as of yesterday.
One is a third clear, the others just starting
Down closer to the shore, where it's warmer, the ponds are most of the way open

Southern Iowa has open water. Not sure how far North it goes.

    Good Luck!

    Buddy,

Some here in Northern NY. Our small local river is morhping from a hockey rink to a fishery as I write this. The local ponds are still mostly rotten ice. The mountain ponds are still at least a couple weeks away. The St. Lawrence Seaway is open though. The ice breaker went through last week. I wouldn't want to swim in any of yet.

    Hey,

You guys get to choose where you live.

Don't whine at me 'cause the lakes are frozen. Doens't it happen EVERY year?

I don't whine at you when it's 110 degrees and raining in the summer monsoons down here (I do spend the summer in Colorado, but that's not the point...).

You all are more than welcome to come visit us down here and fish all winter long.

I'll even show you where to fish and let you use my boat.

    Good Luck!

    Buddy
