    Bill Williams showed me a method that is much the same as the one Jim Williams (no relation) shows on the furled leader forum, and in Chicago a fine gentleman whoses name suddenly escapes me gave me a hank of rope to learn it with, since my fingers aren't nimble a bit like you fly tiers. Start with a rope, he said, then work down. Good advice.

    It seems like you've got plenty of advice on shorb loops, so I won't comment on those. What I will say is that perfection loops work just fine. I tie on in the end of the leader if I ever happen to break the loop at the end and I think that they are probably actually stronger than the shorb loop just somewhat less attractive.
