    Default New Orvis Setup!

Just got back from Outdoor World and picked up a 5wt 2 piece Orvis rod and reel. I can't wait to test it out tomorrow!!!

And I had to add this picture since it seems Mr. Kitty is just as interested in it as I am.

    Luke,
Nice lookin' rig. I'm jealous. I'm also curious. Is that the Streamlite rod? And is that a Barstock reel? I've alway liked Orvis' stuff.

Looks like dubbing is laying on the floor...LOL
What not funny? Ya it is, after all the talk on the board about home animal dubbing..."G"

PS: good luck with the set up, sounds like a good one...

I've always said that the most accurate measure of quality and performance in fly fishing equipment is the amount of excitement and pleasure it gives the user.

lukemccoy, I think you may have one heck of an outfit here!

HAHA, my friend said something about the pictures, its his house. He's like, thanks for taking pictures with hair all over the carpet. I guess that's what you get when you have 2 dogs and 3 cats! I think the animals have been eying me weird since I got the fly tying stuff....like I'm going to shave em where they aren't looking! hehe

Well I just got back from a park and got skunked, not even 1 bite. I was just going after some bluegill and maybe bass. I tried a popper, floating ant with wings, griffiths gnat, couple other dry flies, couple nymphs and wetflies. Nothing. But its free fishing day here in Nevada and there were people and kids fishing EVERYWHERE so it was hard to get places that I thought had fish. But I love the new setup, its awesome. I'm going to go back tomorrow, maybe there won't be that many people...

guess that's why they call it fishing and not catching fish.
