Thread: Poacher

    Default Poacher

Last Saturday I had an uninvited guest for dinner. As I would get a fish in close to the pontoon he would come from behind and try for the fish. So close it was spooky. Thats my shadow on the water. Actually got two for five try's. <img

We've had problems with seals trying to grab salmon, but that one is something else! Great photo.

    Peti,

    EXCELLENT photo, ... Thanx.

I once saw an Osprey swoop in and pluck a nice 2 lb trout out of the 49 pool. Tha camera was in the cabin

    PETI,
I am so envious having not yet seen a bald eagle in the wild! With all the outdoor photo contests, your picture should be a winner! Beautiful!

Excellent photograph!! I would enter that one in a contest. The photo shows action and also tells the story of a great fisher. I always tell people to look at the leg feathers on the immature Bald eagles to diferentiate between them and the golden/Mexican eagle. The bald eagle has no feathers to create drag as its legs enter the water to catch a fish, its' primary source of food. The golden, primarily a carrion eater, has feathers all the way down to its' feet.
Beautifully illustrated in this photograph!! I am most envious and jealous and proud for you at the same time to be able to get such a great photo!!

    Thanks for sharing!!
